Hector Ayala is the original White Tiger, a Marvel Comics superhero. He first appeared in Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #19 (December 1975),
Ayala, a college student, discovered mystical tiger amulets that granted him superhuman strength, speed, agility, and stamina. Donning a white costume, he used these abilities to fight crime as the White Tiger.
Despite his powers, Ayala struggled with the violent nature the amulets instilled within him. He eventually abandoned the White Tiger persona to attempt a normal life.
Tragically, Ayala was later framed for murder and, during an attempt to escape custody, was shot and killed. His legacy lives on through other characters who have adopted the White Tiger mantle.
